Funded community projects group-wide since 2009

At BSP, we believe a prosperous future starts with thriving communities. This is why, since 2009, we’ve funded 530 community programs across the South Pacific. Our goal is to help people and businesses to grow and make a lasting difference in the lives of those we serve.

Empowering Our Communities

To support our customers’ communities, we fund local education, healthcare and environmental programs. We choose projects that tackle the real reasons behind social problems and offer people support and opportunities to help them learn and succeed. Examples include:

Each year, we have thousands of conversations with local communities about what they need and how we can help to create meaningful and lasting change. We often work with NGOs, community groups and government bodies to have an even greater impact. Every Branch Manager and their team have made a personal commitment to our community program, devoting their own time – but working with our resources.

Education

Education is one of the most effective ways to help people break the cycle of poverty. That’s why we give local schools money to buy supplies, renovate classrooms and libraries, install water tanks or build sports grounds. We also run programs that help students understand how to manage their money, giving the young people in our communities the skills and knowledge to succeed.

Health

Quality health care is essential for strong communities. We renovate Aid Posts and Community Health Centres, put in pumps for running water and provide free electricity with solar power kits. We also provide vital medical equipment, fridges to store vaccines, and modern hospital beds to make patients more comfortable.

Environment

We help local communities with tree planting, clean-up drives and educational programs. The BSP Go Green Program helps school children understand the importance of respecting, caring for and tidying up their environment, with activities like the Annual School Clean-up. By raising awareness about environmental issues and encouraging communities to join in conservation efforts, we are helping to protect the natural beauty and biodiversity of the South Pacific.

Partnerships for Community Impact

We partner with local organisations and non-profits to give our community programs a greater reach and impact. Whether we’re supporting women’s groups, youth initiatives or community-led projects, we encourage the spirit of cooperation, helping communities to help themselves.
